Our History
Founded in 1987 by Peter Dawson and Wayne Wallace, Dawson Wallace Construction started with a modest team of just three employees and a total volume of $1.9 million in its first year. By the second year of operation, the company had already seen its volume triple to $9 million. This early growth set the stage for continued success, as the company steadily expanded its operations over the years to become one of the largest and most respected construction firms in Canada.
In 1996, Dawson Wallace opened its Calgary office, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion. In 1998, Myron Grunsky joined the company as a Partner, assuming leadership of the Calgary operations. His strategic guidance helped grow the Calgary branch, and in 2007, Leroy Grunsky joined the partnership after spending 10 years as a Project Manager. Leroy now leads the company’s Edmonton office, further strengthening our presence across the region.
In 2015, Dawson Wallace expanded into Lethbridge, with Sharon Dawson taking the role of Branch Manager. This move allowed the company to further enhance its ability to serve clients throughout the southern Alberta region.
In 2019, the company made a strategic move to establish offices in Vancouver and Victoria to better serve the growing demand for services in British Columbia. This expansion focused on the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, positioning Dawson Wallace to continue delivering excellence in these areas and providing support to our clients across the province.
Throughout our history, Dawson Wallace Construction has remained dedicated to building strong, lasting relationships with clients, employees, and communities. Senior leaders actively mentor the next generation of professionals within the company, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to continue driving the company’s success into the future. By fostering a culture of growth and learning, we ensure that Dawson Wallace remains at the forefront of the construction industry, delivering exceptional results on every project we undertake.
